Among the many jewels spread around in Bundi, Sukh Mahal stands

our luggage in the hotel, we set out to explore the city. Starting with much
acclaimed Raniji ki Baori, we were advised to be at Sukh Mahal by the evening.
As we reached Sukh Mahal by evening, we realised that evening is a perfect time
to witness the majestic ambience of Sukh Mahal.
Beyond its architectural grandeur, Sukh
Mahal holds a romantic tale that adds to its allure. Renowned poet and devotee
of God Krishna, Meera Bai found solace in the tranquil surroundings of Sukh
Mahal, resided here for a brief period and she composed many of her devotional
songs praising her beloved deity.
Also, Rudyard Kipling stayed here
for a couple of nights and fell in love with Bundi and while returning wrote
these lines: ‘But the
Englishman was grieved at heart. He had fallen in love with Bundi the beautiful
and believed that he would never again see anything half so fair.’
Sukh Mahal stands as a prominent tourist
attraction in Bundi. However, is not crowded, thus allowing you to sit at the faced
and experience the calm vibes of sitting alongside a Lake. And the lake is one
